Hey Reavers!

Are you itching for some new Rob Thurman?

Well…you’re in luck next HalloWeek, because a new anthology called Courts of the Fey is coming out on 11/1 – right smack in the middle of Halloween and Day of the Dead…kinda like the middle of an Oreo cookie from the Underworld.

Within these Seelie and Unseelie courts lurks a short story from our own Rob Thurman. It’s called “First Ball…Last Call” – a grim, post-apocalyptic fey Western, which sounds just like what the mad scientists have ordered for this time of the year.

Now, the irony is that the book cover to this anthology looks like it’s all love and light. I don’t know what the other entries are like, but Rob has told me hers is very, very dark, and it sounds like it’s right up any Cal Leandros fan’s alley. So don’t be fooled by the tiny tinkerbells and bright, pretty colors.

To celebrate this anthology’s release and to get a jump-start on Halloween, we’ve decided to make the secret Doubletake excerpt [that all the Basilisk Contest participants got to see before anyone else] public. This is not the same Cal #7 excerpt from the back of Basilisk.

So enjoy this Doubletake excerpt and Happy All Hallow’s Friday to you all!

I bought this anthology today, simply because I heard a Rob Thurman story was going to be there.

I haven’t started it yet, but I completely intend to.

    Yay for Cal-esque fairy stories!

    Yay for pretty covers!

Any yay for a new anthology – ESPECIALLY because Rob is in it!
