No Real News on Rob’s Progress…

02 Sep 2011, Posted by JaydaSteele in Blog, News

Hi Everyone,

Haven’t heard from Rob’s mother, which means no real changes to be excited about or worried over. Again – stable news is good news.

Everyone at Dragon*Con: stop by her booth and buy a book or two. That way, she can be with you in sprit as she continues to heal across the miles.

Love, Hugs & Happy Friday,

Hey, don’t you dare do anything but totally recover! From a purely selfish standpoint, I hate finding an author I love then having her do an ‘auto header’! How am I supposed to get my Leandros fix if you’re not up and writing? I even have the damn things on my Kindle which just shows how much I like the stories (although you gotta appreciate how cheap I am to understand why that is such a noteworthy event).

I know you hate suggestions, not that it even remotely slows me down, but have you thought of bringing in Niko’s biological daddy to mess up their day? Robin and his cat still remains the highlight of the books as far as my family is concerned. I hear my husband snickering and go “So, what’s Robin done now?”. He (husband) counts on me to just pass on books he’ll like and he’s been thoroughly satiisfied with this series.

Thank you for books I can, and do, read over and over again. That is so rare and I am deeply appreciative. Oh, as per your suggestion, I did indeed buy during the time period guarenteed to shove the little devil on the Best Sellers list.

I am continuing to pray for Rob and her family.

IAs an ER Nurse, I know the ups and downs in the road to recovery. I also know how much prayer and good will go toward making things better. Let us all over the next few days say a prayer (or a moment of meditation) and send a collective wish to for ‘our’ author to gain strength and health.

Anxiously waiting for an update, and hoping no news is good news! Get well, Rob!

Perhaps we could try writing movie studios or one of the cable TV channels to get Rob’s books picked up by them. It would be a nice sort of gift for her to advocate for her work to be brought to the screen.

As far as Rob – take time to heal, breathe… and rest. Nothing is so urgent that it can not wait for you to be better. Listen to your body. No matter what has happened to you, there is always a worse alternative, so try and remember to accept, forgive yourself for any changes and be. Do not fixate on what once was easy and is now hard, just live in the now for a time. I have almost died a time or two and know how frustrating recovery can be. Just think every day is a gift from now on for the rest of your life so if things are not the same… they are still a gift.

Rob’s mom, I know what you are going through. Take the time to eat, bring in her favorite meals to have with her when she is able, do anything to give yourself a shred of normality even in the cursed setting of the hospital. Bring her blankets from home and a soft fluffy nightgown. Give her something to to touch and hold on to when things are nasty that is not new, but a piece of home. You both need it in such an alien and anxious setting. Bring a picture of home too.

Bring something that smells of home too. Bring her own shampoo and soap and wash her hair when you are allowed to. It will make her feel more human and normal again. Take care.

Misha needs to pay a visit to Rob and use that extraordinary healing ability of his. We can pay him with Three Musketeers. He’d go for that.

    -Get better soon!

This is good. I like this stability. Keep it coming.

Ill just keep on crossing all my crossables and sending healing thoughts Rob’s way. Hugs all around to Rob, Jayda and my fellow Reavers! xo

Rob and her mom and Jayda are in my thoughts every day! We are all pulling for you! I picked up Chimera and Basilisk the other day at B&N and am loving Chimera. I will be looking forward to Rob being up and about and back to adding more Reavers to her family!

Thanks Jayda. I think about Rob and her family every day. As a mother, I feel so much empathy for Rob’s mother. Mom’s want fix things and make them better , not just wait and hope. Please let them know the have lots of love and positive energy directed toward them.

My daughter posted this on her wall. Loved it and wanted to share. We don’t know who the author is.

This is for all the strong ladies, who have been through a lot in life and survived!! I am strong because I know weakness, I am compassionate because I have experienced suffering, I am alive because I am a fighter, I am wise because I’ve been foolish, I can laugh because I have known sadness. I can love because I’ve known loss. Re-post if you are a strong woman who has weathered the storm but still loves to dance!

Bought Basilisk and Cal 2-4 for a friend today. I got her reading Chimera and Nightlife earlier this year, thought I’d get her up to speed on more of Rob’s books. And told her if she enjoys them to spread the word!

Holding steady is a good sign. The body takes alot to recover from such incredible stress. Fingers still crossed and good thoughts still coming for Rob!

Well thats good 😀 hope she gets out soon but seriously take all the time you need we will be here waiting for you. Blessed be )O(

No news is good news as far as I’m concerned. It means she hasn’t gotten any worse at least. I hope her recovery picks up quickly as I know being sick and in hospital is no fun what-so-ever. Been there, done that, was hobbling to the exit too fast to even think of buying the t-shirt.

I’m wishing for the best for her every day and I’m sure she’ll be back and as strong as ever soon enough.

Bought Trickster book one today, probably the only book of Rob’s I hadn’t already owned.

Rob, you’re in my thoughts and prayers. Please get better soon.

To Rob’s mom– you’re also in my thoughts and prayers. Take care of yourself. And Jayda, thank you for the frequents posts and updates.

Rob’s last Cal book in March got me through losing our dog of almost 12 years and our other one doing bad now but hanging on. Basilisk is another comfort book for me. I so appreciate that from Rob and wish her the best and number one bestsellers the rest of her career. I’ll be out to buy more copies of Basilisk next week. We have a very sick dog and it’s hard to leave her for long so I haven’t been out much. Praying for Rob and wishing her all the best. I thank her for all the great books I’ve enjoyed. She’s a blessing to us readers and Reavers. lol Cheryl
