Dakota: My Werewolf Superhero and #1 Fan...

DEDICATED TO MY WEREWOLF SUPERHERO, DAKOTA: FOREVER ALIVE WHERE THE SUN ALWAYS SHINES, THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREEN, AND THE RABBITS ARE ALWAYS SLOW.

My werewolf superhero passed away today. I know my longtime fans are more than familiar with him as he pops up on LJ regularly and here: Dakota.  He was the best behaved dog (and for a Siberian Husky that is rare), intelligent, and my heart.  Please don’t send presents as well-intentioned as that is. He was saved through the Northern Lights Rescue and had  eight more years of life with me when they pointed him out on Petfinders two days from being put down on the pound’s death row. The moment I saw him I knew I couldn’t let that happen. I don’t know where humans carry their soul, but Dakota’s was clear and true in his eyes, more eloquent than any poetry. If you want to honor him, donate a dollar to Northern Lights if you can spare it (they have Paypal) and save another life and another dog as wonderful as he was. Save another heart.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Dakota was a beautiful dog. I made a donation to Northern Lights to help the other Dakotas out there.

Thank you. I feel like Rafferty without Catcher. This time he didn’t wait for me. And the donation will help other Catchers and Dakotas. Tax deductible too.

I’m so sorry Rob. I’m glad you and he had the eight years with each other:)

I’m so sorry about Dakota. Animals give so much and ask so little. I’ve sent a little something to Northern Lights for their good work with all the other loving Dakota’s out there. Thinking about you.

Thank you for saving Dakota and giving him those eight years. It’s obvious he will be greatly missed.

    I’m sorry to hear it… =(

    Best wishes.
